Day 5 Master Cleanse – Delta Edition Hand Rash

Day 5 is the magical day on the master cleanse for me. I hit a HUGE milestone. I dropped under 200 lbs today. It has been a long time since I have weighed that little. In fact it has been since I was 18.

I started college at 190. About the only thing I over achieved at my freshman year that I dare to post on the internet is beating the freshman 15. I added a cool 20 lbs freshman year. 210 was my weight in June 1993.

I am now almost 35 and I weigh 199.9. I am in pretty good shape, but I am getting old. I have to work hard at loosing weight and almost as hard to merely maintain my weight.

I have always had a fairly slow metabolism. If I do not exercise, I will put on weight from *normal* eating habits. That is why the Master Cleanse has helped me so much.

During the cleanse I am able to drop a significant amount of weight. I also am able to break the addictions to sugar and flour and salt and caffeine that are in all the things that I truly enjoy eating.

When you first come of the cleanse your taste buds are so heightened. Raw fruits and vegetables actually sound great and taste even better. I had never before enjoyed fruits and vegetables as much as I have over the past year.

I avoid processed foods as much as possible. Meat is one of my favorite things to eat, but I prepared vegetables in such a way that they have the flavor of meat. I do eat meat about once a week when not on the cleanse. I used to eat meat at least 3 times per day.

Speaking of meat today I was craving wings. Not just any wings, but crispy flavorful wings like you find at Wild Wing Café or Quaker Steak and Lube.

Wild Wing Café has several locations. They actually have a buffet that includes several flavors of wings as well as other fried delicious fattening yummy garbage. Quaker Steak and Lube has the most amazing assortment of flavors of wings. Plus they have fantastic onion rings, hot soft pretzels, and homemade chips served with a beer cheese sauce. Whoa. My head is about to explode. I can taste all those things right now. More spicy lemonade quick.

That’s better. Well sort of.

The cleanse is hard. But having hit a major milestone makes it much more bearable. 5 more days then back to food.

The hand rash is really kicking up. Had to ice my hands for a while to stop the itching. My stomach is starting to get itchy as well.

I really want to get down to at least 195 to have a little room to ease back up and still be under 200. Hitting the bike will help accomplish that.
